We transform specifications, submittals, and construction documents into contextualized data analysis—revealing where your projects align with your goals, where gaps exist, and how to build measurable progress across your portfolio.

Strategic Data-Driven Consulting
Every project leaves behind valuable knowledge. We help ensure the next one starts with it.
Materially Better helps organizations across the built environment turn the knowledge they’ve built over years of practice into a system every project can benefit from. Rather than relying on tribal knowledge, we embed your standards, product decisions, reporting, and lessons learned into the way your teams work—making them accessible, repeatable, and measurable across projects.
The result is faster, more confident decision-making. Teams spend less time searching for information or revisiting past decisions because proven solutions remain available as your firm grows and changes. Leadership gains visibility into project performance, while project teams stay aligned with firm standards and client goals.
We begin with the workflows and documents your firm already uses. From there, we organize product information, standardize reporting, and transform project data into insights that strengthen every project while reinforcing your firm’s long-term knowledge.
Whether through the Red2Green library, standardized project reporting, or custom portfolio insights, Materially Better integrates with the way your teams already work—helping your expertise scale, your standards endure, and every project benefit from what the firm has already learned.

Upload a portion of a finish schedule, and we’ll benchmark the products to give a clear snapshot of where your project stands—and where opportunity lies.
Your project documentation already holds the information; the challenge is interpreting it. We perform the analysis for you, transforming routine specifications, submittals, and construction documents into actionable guidance. Patterns in product selections, substitutions, and decision-making emerge, revealing where choices advance your goals—and where adjustments can strengthen results.
One project becomes a lens for your entire portfolio. Teams gain clarity, context, and foresight—without extra work. Project-level decisions become portfolio-level strategy.
Consider this report your first step toward understanding the story your materials choices are already telling. See what your data reveals—and decide what comes next.

Red2Green + Consulting
Red2Green puts healthier materials management in your hands. As a standalone platform, it enables teams to track product selections, manage documentation, coordinate communication, and generate real-time reporting—while these tools are valuable for any project team, they are particularly powerful for LEED, WELL, LBC, and other certification frameworks.
When a project requires full materials leadership, consulting expertise can be engaged to support the project team. Project documentation is evaluated with rigor, patterns are surfaced, and portfolio-level direction is established—accelerating decision-making and amplifying the impact of your Red2Green subscription.
Some teams rely solely on Red2Green. Others integrate consulting for maximum reach and strategic alignment. Different approaches, same objective: measurable, defensible, and repeatable healthier materials outcomes.

Charley Stevenson,
LFA, LEED AP, Capital Projects Materials Strategist & Founder
Charley Stevenson has been delving deeper and deeper into sustainable building materials since beginning work on his first Living Building Challenge project in 2011. With the Materially Better team, he has developed processes and software to integrate better materials selections into all project types and to transform the market as quickly and easily as possible.
